Oh LORD go Titans.
Just the one this week.
What happens if the Pats take it?
Well, after the post that I just made on my other blog a few hours ago, this seems less important, but seriously...what a finish!

I hope you and Shannon and Angie are out drinking.

Only one or two games worries me, so here we go.

Giants over Redskins
Saints over Panthers
Texans over Browns
Cowboys over Lions
Chiefs over Jags
Titans over Patriots (worry)
Jets over Raiders
Bengals over Steelers
Seahawks over Buccaneers
Rams over Vikings
Chargers over Cardinals
Eagles over Falcons
Ravens over Bills
Colts over Dolphins
Broncos over 49ers
Bears over Packers (worry)

Both worries involve a team with a lot to play for against a team with nothing to play for. I went one-and-one with those. Post and then check yours....wow.

FINAL WEEK: Josh's picks.

NY Giants @ Washington
Even though they keep losing, they can still clinch a playoff spot. Jesus.

Pittsburgh @ Cincinnati
I don't think the Steelers will play spoiler. Cincinnati needs a win. They'll get big games from their big players, and the Bengals are a big-player team.

Detroit @ Dallas
They are still in the divisional hunt...

Cleveland @ Houston
Put up a good fight at Indy.

Jacksonville @ Kansas City
Both these teams are still in it. Johnson is running well. KC is a better running team, has homefield advantage, and Fred Jones is limping. Reluctantly, I'll take the chiefs.

St. Louis @ Minnesota
Sorry Patrick. Minnesota is wayyy out and St. Louis needs a win to have any chance. Plus, it's a dome, and St Louis plays like homefield on any dome.

Carolina @ New Orleans
Another very, very difficult call. I basically will take the team that I think is better.

Oakland @ NY Jets
Win, they're in. Good.

Seattle @ Tampa Bay
They need a warm up game, and Tampa seems like a good place to start. They won't pick off Hasselbeck, and Carnell is limping.

New England @ Tennessee
I hope to lord that the Patriots can stop this streak. Clearly, I think they will.

Buffalo @ Baltimore
Easy.

San Francisco @ Denver
Playoff time.

Miami @ Indianapolis
Three easy ones in a row? That makes me scared for the earlier ones.

Atlanta @ Philadelphia
I think we'll both agree here. Philly is the hottest team in the league.

Arizona @ San Diego
they need to clinch. Arizona's a good team to do that against.

Green Bay @ Chicago
They may rest some people, but since they have no real quarterback, i doubt it. They need to get in rhythm before the bye, and Green Bay will lose because of it.

I was disappointed that your 1-per-week pace was a sure-miss, but it turns out you missed one!

Patrick: Browns, Josh: Bucs

That's three!
G'luck
Denver-Cincinnati

Bills-Titans

Good luck, and merry christmas. email coming!
Josh's picks:

Minnesota at Green Bay
here's hoping.

Kansas City at Oakland
Although I would love an oakland win from an AFC west standpoint, the chiefs should take this one.

Carolina at Atlanta
Both these teams ate it last week, but carolina has folded for the year, the falcons have had more rest and are at home.

Tennessee at Buffalo
Bills are playing like they actually belong in the playoffs, but so is Tennessee. I'm hoping the cold-ass weather plays in Buffalo's favour, because I can bet Vince Young hates cold.

Tampa Bay at Cleveland
Tim rattay looks like he belongs, and the browns aren't the bears.

Chicago at Detroit.
Ow.

Indianapolis at Houston
They're playing like the Colts again, and that's bad news for the AFC.

New England at Jacksonville
As good as the Jags are at home, they lost to the Titans and the pats are firing. Plus, it's december. Pat-time.

New Orleans at NY Giants
Just try and play in the middle of New York on Christmas when Strahan returns. oh lord. That stadium is going to be absolutely insane.

Baltimore at Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh played well, but they're out and Baltimore is in a race. Ravens.

Washington at St. Louis
Both teams performed well. But the greatest show on turf is on its home turf.

Arizona at San Francisco
They've had a lot of rest and are coming off a win in Seattle.

Cincinnati at Denver
My comeback is going to have to go hand-in-hand with denver's.

San Diego at Seattle
They're playing too well. LT is the best. Period.

Philadelphia at Dallas
Philadelphia is firing. But again, Christmas in Dallas and with a strong Pro Bowl showing, they'll be looking to prove it. Garcia looked rushed last week.

NY Jets at Miami
I've got to stop betting against the Jets.

Okay! Patrick+2 with 2 to go.
What are the tiebreaker methods, before it gets that far? Any suggestions? Playoff games, or maybe predict a Super Bowl winner, and whichever team gets further?

Here are the week 16 picks. Terrified.
Oh god the Vikes are in Green Bay. With even records. Ugly. I'll take the defense for one more week, but if you guys screw this up.... Vikes.
Kansas City is in Oakland (sorry Denver) and it's gotta be the Chiefs.
Baltimore is in Pittsburgh, and the Ravens have proved that the Steelers aren't in the same class this year.
How's Jake Delhomme? Still suffering. Falcons.
Bears over Lions.
Colts over Texans.
Sorry, Shannon, but with that ugly loss last week, I'll take the Patriots over the Jags.
New Orleans looked bad at home last week, and they have that division wrapped up, yes? Yes. Giants.
Tampa/Cleveland? What do you think the odds are that they televise that one? Browns.
Vince Young won AGAIN last week (7-7), and I think it's gotta be the Titans again over the Bills.
Washington and St. Louis are both disappointments, but I'll take the Rams.
San Fran proved they still have game, and still have a shot at the division, so I'll take the 49ers over the Cards.
Cincinnati is in Denver, and the winner should have a wild card spot. I'll take the Bengals, sorry Josh.
San Diego is up north in Seattle, but in a dome. Chargers.
A Monday Night doubleheader! Both tough, key games. The Eagles play in Dallas, and, with home field, I'll take Romo's 'boys over Garcia's Eagles.
The Jets are in Miami and wow, Miami's 6-8 is last in that division. I think this one may be a swing game, but the Jets still have a serious wild card shot.

Should be a good week! Good luck.

Down one with the Bengals on monday night...
This has all the makings of a great finish.
Good luck!

Wednesday, December 13, 2006

FIVE this week. FIVE! You could go two UP! I dislike this immensely.

Patrick: Dolphins / Josh: Bills
Patrick: Steelers / Josh: Panthers
Patrick: Cardinals / Josh: Broncos
Patrick: Giants / Josh: Eagles
Patrick: Colts / Josh: Bengals

You like your 'B' teams. It's a sign. They will bring their 'B' game.
You suck.
Good luck.
Well, from here on out, they're all big weeks, so I won't tell you how big this week is. I'll make you guess.
Here goes nothing.

Seattle is going to win the division but not much else, but the 49ers just lost to the Pack so I'll say Seahawks.
Atlanta is just not consistant enough of a threat, and Romo and the Cowboys have something to prove.
The Browns are in Baltimore, and, the more I see, the more I like the Ravens to go deep in the playoffs.
Detroit is in Green Bay, and I say Packers.
Houston is picking it up, but New England doesn't lose back-to-back. Especially at Foxborough. Patriots.
The Titans are looking pretty freaking good, but after what they did to the Colts, I gotta go with Shannon and say Jags.
Miami is in Buffalo. That's tough. I'll take the Dolphins to maintain a higher level.
The Jets are in Minnesota, and part of me says the Jets still have a wild card shot, but then my heart shouts 'SO DO THE VIKINGS!'
Pittsburgh is in Carolina, and I don't like that. But, having won four of five (loss to Ravens) I'll say Steelers. Boo Jake Delhomme.
Tampa would need a miracle in Chicago.
Washington is in New Orleans, and I like the Saints to keep rollin'.
Denver is in Arizona, and, after last week, I'm gonna chance it and say Cardinals.
Philly has a streak, but the Giants have a real starting QB.
St. Louis is in Oakland, and I say Rams.
Kansas City goes into the toughest place to play this year, so it's gotta be the Chargers.
Cincy is looking better, but, after a couple of bad losses, I think the Colts have a prime time win here.

Aak. Nervous.

Josh's picks, going in -3:

San Francisco at Seattle
This is tough, but since SF lost to Green Bay at home and Seattle lost on the road, I'll take the Hawks, who are having the worst post-NFC championship hangover season in a while.

Dallas at Atlanta
Wow. This is a tough call. Atlanta won easily in Tampa Bay, while Dallas got smoked at home. But Dallas's problem was the long game, something Vick can't offer. I'll take the Cowboys.

Cleveland at Baltimore
The Ravens looked great in Arrowhead, and with home field and no Frye, I can't see the Browns putting a stop to that.

Miami at Buffalo
Another really tough call. Both these teams played really well last week. Miami did shut out the Pats, but I'll take Buffalo at home in the dead cold of December.

Pittsburgh at Carolina
Delhomme should be back, and if not for the turnovers, the Panthers were competitive last week.

Tampa Bay at Chicago
This is an easier call. Two 90+ yard kickoff returns? That's insane. This team wins on special teams.

Detroit at Green Bay
For the same reason as the Buffalo game, Lambeau is a tough place to win in during December, notably when you're the Lions without Kevin Jones.

NY Jets at Minnesota
Well, which Jets team are we going to get? They did play well against the Bills, but got torched on some huge plays. The Vikings have the safeties to contain the WRs, and the Jets D is poor. I'll take the Vikings.

Houston at New England
Everyone makes fun of Houston, but they did beat Jacksonville, the team that just made Peyton their bitch, twice. Still, I think I'll take the Patriots.

Washington at New Orleans
Fox is calling the Saints America's team. I agree.

Jacksonville at Tennessee
This is a tough call, but the Jags have the personnel to contain Vince Young. They should take it.

Denver at Arizona
I've got to go with them this week. They need to win to have any hope of making the playoffs.

Philadelphia at NY Giants
I do love Burress, but Jeff Garcia is playing inspired football. Watch the Eagles rally around him.

St Louis at Oakland
I don't care.

KC at SD
After seeing the drubbing they gave the Broncos, it's hard not to go with them. And if KC can't win at home, they won't be the Chargers on the road.

Cincinnati at Indianapolis
They are going to go right at tthat run defence, which has as many holes as the PGA tour.

Your bolding is getting lazy, or my computer sucks. I know Giants/Carolina, but who else is up for grabs this week?
I'm surprised we were the same on so many...

Cleveland at Pittsburgh
The Browns looked good but now, with Frye in doubt, Pittsburgh should take this at home.

NY Giants at Carolina
Tough call. Both these teams lost by three to NFC rivals. Both are underperforming. But with Jake Delhomme questionable, I'm leaning towards the Giants. Elllliiiiiiiiiiiiiii.

Oakland at Cincinnati
This is one of those that would have been easier at the beginning of the year...

Minnesota at Detroit
Even your team isn't that bad.

Tennessee at Houston
Vince Young is proving his worth, and the Texans aren't anywhere close to the Colts.

Indianapolis at Jacksonville
The Jags smoked Miami and the Colts have lost two of three. I think Peyton will make a bitch out of the Jags D, and I never vote for bitches.

Baltimore at Kansas City
Seeing as Baltimore lost last week to Cincinnati, and KC lost to the Browns, I don't know. Arrowhead is a tough place to play in, Larry Johnson is amazing. But the Ravens have had 10 days. They'll be ready.

New England at Miami
Patriots. I'm not falling for this.

Atlanta at Tampa Bay
Picked both these teams last week. One won, one didn't. Easy choice.

Philadelphia at Washington
I'll take the un-rested Eagles coming off a big win over the Redskins.

Seattle at Arizona
Fucking Seattle. If you can win in Mile High, you can win in Arizona.

Green Bay at San Francisco
Each these teams got blown out last week, thirty-something to 10. So..... SF is an overperforming team, GB is underperforming, and has been thumped two weeks in a row. I sense a trend.

Buffalo at New York Jets
My buddy Mike loves the Jets and I always lose when I pick against them.... if anything, I feel this pick will show my loyalty to Mike, who's cramming for crazy ITM finals.

Denver at San Diego
That's right, I did it, I did it. Two weeks ago, i picked the Broncos but said my actual, in-a-world-without-loyalty pick was the other team. I have no loyalty, and the Broncs are reeling.

New Orleans at Dallas
Dallas won big in New York, and New Orleans rarely wins on the road. Dallas.

Chicago at St. Louis
Again, I'd rather lose with 80% of the world than try another long shot. There'll be enough up for grabs this week anyway.

Is it just me or is this a tough week?
Maybe my confidence is just failing me. But I think it's a tough week. And tough weeks are not what I want to see with a 4 game lead. Nonetheless, here are the picks:

Pittsburgh is injured in some key spots, but they are at home. If it's in Cleveland, give me the Browns, but, until then, I'll take the Steelers.
The Bucs are going nowhere fast, and even with all my anti-Atlanta rants, the Falcons are my choice here.
Indianapolis lost a gimme last week and have a tough one in Florida, but I'll still take the Colts again.
Minnesota still has an outside shot at a playoff spot, but not if they don't find a QB soon. They're better than the Lions, so this week, it's still the Vikings.
Miami is looking much better sans Culpepper, but New England has an aura of destiny this year. Give me the Patriots. I think they'll run the table.
The Giants and Carolina both lost toughies last week, and Eli Manning is once again due for an off week. Another toughie, but give me the Panthers.
Oakland is not good enough to beat the surging Bengals.
I'll take a two-week lease on Garcia and say that Washington loses to the Eagles. But another toughie.
Tenessee is in Houston, and, for the first time this year, I think I like the Titans. They have quietly won 3 straight against good teams.
In the Battle of the Bays, I'll take the 49ers at home.
Seattle is putting it back together, and I'll take the Seahawks in Arizona.
Buffalo is in New York, and, in another tough one to call, I'll take the Jets, just because they seem to win the clutch ones for me.
Denver is in San Diego, and Denver is slipping. San Diego has a real shot at home field for at least one game in the playoffs, so give me the Chargers.
New Orleans and R.B. had a great week last week, but, Mr. Tony Romo, I am a believer. Cowboyz.
Chicago had better find something consistant for Grossman to do that doesn't hurt them. I'll still take the Bears in St. Louis.

This could be a big week. There's quite a few I could see going the other way. Best of luck.
