Josh +5, week 8

Denver over Baltimore

Chicago over Cleveland

Dallas over Seattle

Jets over Miami
(Rex Ryan is still pissed)

Indy over San Fran

Giants over Philly

Detroit over St. Louis
(yikes)

San Diego over Oakland

Jacksonville over Tennessee

Minnesota over Green Bay

Arizona over Carolina

New Orleans over Atlanta
Fun to watch!

After one round of games, Josh is down 2-1. If only Alex Smith had started... and sorry 'bout the Vikings dude. With any luck, we'll beat the Steelers in the postseason. You'll never need to see them again.

Friday, October 23, 2009

To sum up, there are six this week.

Jets (Josh) vs. Oakland (Patrick)
Carolina (Josh) vs. BUffalo (Patrick)
San Francisco (Josh) vs. Houston (Patrick)
Kansas City (Josh) vs. San Diego (Patrick)
Pittsburgh (Josh) vs. Minnesota (Patrick)
Dallas (Josh) vs. Atlanta (Patrick)

I could be up 11, down one, or more likely somewhere in between. Good luck. And, did you like the hotel?
5.
5 games this week.
I could be down 10. Or even.

Josh Patrick
SF HOU
KC SD
PIT MIN
CAR BUF
DAL ATL
5 down early. More time to make it up, I guess. Week 7!

Green Bay over Cleveland

Houston over San Fran
Injuries are the only reason for this pick

San Diego over Kansas City

Indy over St. Louis
Do you think the rams win one this year?

New England over Tampa

Minnesota over Pittsburgh
This... This game is where we find out how good we are.

Buffalo over Carolina
Again, I hate games between 2 bad teams with potential.

Oakland over NY Jets
I just have a feeling on this one...

Cincy over Chicago
I think they'll bounce back

Atlanta over Dallas
Dallas just... chokes. I guess it's more Romo, but still.

New Orleans over Miami

NYGiants over Arizona

Philly over Washington
Week 7, up five. Also, this is where we're staying in Denver.

Green Bay over Cleveland
The Packers are so much better on paper than they've played... coaching change time..?

San Francisco over Houston
49ers have the 20th ranked pass defence. Schaub is getting hot. Shit. But the Crabtree signing and the bye week will have this SF team in top form, and they'll be hungry for a win. Gore's also back... San Francisco.

Kansas City over San Diego
I can't believe I'm making this call. The Chiefs are at home, they are getting better while the Chargers are sliding, SD won last year's two meetings by a combined score of two points. Neither team will be able to stop any fucking pass to save their lives. But the decision maker was the swine flu that's ravaging the Chargers locker room and has LT down and, potentially, out.

Indianapolis over St. Louis
If you thought last week's 59-0 drubbing was bad...

Patriots over Tampa Bay

Steelers over Vikings
Wow. This is tough. The Vikings are limping (Winfield, Peterson) and Steelers literally don't have an injured player. I think the Steelers are 2nd in Passing and the Vikings are 24th in defending the pass. I also think Jared Allen will pressure the hell out of Ben. (the vikings are tied for the league lead in sacks, with the Broncos, and the Steelers 23rd in sacks allowed). The Steelers' losses have come on the road, and they're at home here. It'll be a brisk 10 degrees that day, which I think works in favour of the home team when playing a team that has a dome. The Vikings barely beat Baltimore. I always like coaches against their former teams. Pittsburgh has played shitty teams as of late. This is their test. I'll take them, if only because I've racked up a lead by you betting against my team. Steelers. Enjoy!

Carolina over Buffalo

New York over Oakland

Bengals over Bears
Tinoisamoa and Odom are both out, so that will leave little pressure on Cutler and open up some holes for Benson, who will still have to run against Urlacher and Briggs, no easy task. Tommie Harris is also out though. The Bengals pass defence is awful. Both teams lose the ball a lot. This will be an ugly one. I think with two top run-stoppers out, Benson will do well against his former team. Bengals.

Dallas over Atlanta
I run the risk over over-analyzing here. But generally, Atlanta is good at home. Dallas is, too. Dallas is at home. Dallas had a bye. Atlanta has a bottom-third pass defence and run defence. I think Newman can stop Roddy White. And Matt Ryan won't have an answer for Demarcus Ware (even though he only has two sacks this year). I hope. Cowboys.

Saints over Miami

Giants over Arizona

Eagles over Redskins
How do you pick a once-lauded matchup when they lost to the Raiders and Chiefs last week? Lame. Eagles, presuming they get back to running the damn ball.

One Game.
Giants. Saints.
Should be an awesome game.
Okay, -4 and lots of time to go. Is it risk-taking time? Or do I just keep taking who I think will win?

Cincy, Green Bay, Jacksonville all to win. Anything else would be stupid.

And I take the Vikings, and I really think you would be wise to as well.

Which brings us to the Giants and the Saints. Now, you seem like the type to take the Giants, but the Saints are at home and have had 2 weeks to think about this one. But... I just have a feeling about the Giants. They seem to win big games. Giants.

Pittsburgh. Carolina, Washington, Philly.

Seattle looked too good last week not to take them. New England, NYJets.

I am picking Atlanta because a) I think they will win and b) I can't stand to cheer for the bears.

Now Denver is essentially the only reason I am in this hole, so not picking them again would be stupid. And this is not a 'let-down' game because it is Monday Night and divisional. But for some reason I keep staring at that lightning bolt....
No. That would be stupid. Broncos.

Up Four. There are some tough picks this week.

Bengals over Texans
Packers over Lions
Jags over Rams (why do i keep picking Jacksonville)
Vikings over Ravens (This is not meant to make the game a wash; i genuinely think you'll obliterate them)
Saints over Giants (yikes)
Pittsburgh over Cleveland
Panthers over TB
Washington over Kansas City
Eagles over Raiders
Seahawks over Cardinals
Patriots over Titans
Jets over Bills
Falcons over Bears
Denver over San Diego (might as well keep the faith)

Three: i've got Denver and you've got NE; I've got Jacksonville and you've got Seattle; I've got Atlanta and you've got San Francisco.
I hope you got the slew of txt messages i sent that night. 60 cents a pop! Either way, I certainly do believe you now that the game will be important. This week could be tough, however... there are so many that are up in the air...

Ravens over Bengals
When really struggling with a decision, I find it useful to step back and ask who you'd pick in Week One, and who you'd pick in the Superbowl. In each case, Baltimore.

Bills over Browns
Yep.

Panthers over Redskins**
...home team?

Pittsburgh over Detroit

Cowboys over Chiefs

NYG over Oakland

Eagles over Bucs

Arizona to dominate Houston

Minnesota over St. Louis

Falcons over 49ers
Way too many injuries for what will otherwise be a (likely) playoff-bound San Fran team.

Denver over New England
I may as well go for the gusto. See, here's the problem with us this year: I can't not choose the Broncos now. Even against the Pats, long our achilles heel. But Taylor is out; Mayo is limping. If there's anyone that can plan an offense for New England, it's McDaniels, and if there's anyone who can plan a defence, it's Nolan. 5-0 with wins over Dallas and New England? I'm going to run out of pants.

Jacksonville over Seattle

Colts over Titans

Jets over Dolphins

I hope you defecated yourself. Now do you believe me that the game we are going to will mean something? I have the actual tickets as of today by the way.
Josh +3. Time to make a dent.

Baltimore over Cincy
Should be a lot of fun, but I will take the home team. The Bengals lost to the Broncos, for heaven's sake! ;)

Buffalo over Cleveland

Carolina over Washington
I hate picking games between 2 bad teams, especially when both have shown flashes of brilliance. But I take the home team here.

Pittsburgh over Detroit

Dallas over KC

Giants over Oakland

Philly over Tampa

Minnesota over St. Louis

San Fran over Atlanta
This should also be a good one, but I take the home team with the good run D.

Arizona over Houston
Eh, I still got some love for Fitzy. He should have a field day.

New England over Denver
I dare you. Try it again.
Seriously, though, this could go Denver's way. I just don't think they're this good yet.

Seattle over Jacksonville
This one is a tough one. Home field is a big advantage when the other team has to go corner-to-corner accross the states. I really want to pick the Jags, but I don't think they got it this week.

Indy over Tennessee

Jets over Miami
I will only watch this one for background noise to essay writing.

Figured this would happen... One game: Dallas-Denver. I got faith.... i got faith... For a three-game lead and a 4-0 start? i'd pretty much defecate if that happened.
