Atlanta over Tampa Bay

Dolphins over Buffalo

Philadelphia over Washington

Seattle over St. Louis

Carolina over the New York Jets
Man these teams have similar stats. And similarly awful quarterbacks.

Bengals over Browns

Colts over Texans

Chargers over Chiefs

49ers over Jaguars
The 49ers would be 8-3 if the had the Jags' schedule. And they have the sixth-ranked run defence. I'll take the 49ers. Counterintuitive, I know...

Vikings over Bears

Titans over Cardinals

Ravens over Steelers
As you said in Denver, they are just not the same team without Polamalu

Saints over Patriots
New England is awful away from Foxborough
First of all, WOW what a statement by the Broncos. I had them all but written off, but they played like they belong in the playoffs.
Anyway. This is a TOUGH week.

Atlanta over Tampa
I like that Freeman kid, but he doesn't have weapons.

Miami over Buffalo

Philadelphia over Washington

Seattle over St. Louis

Carolina over NYJets
This one is just a gut feeling. Neither team is looking good, but I just like Carolina's run game.

Cincy over Cleveland

Indy over Houston
Not until they start making field goals.

San Diego over Kansas City

San Fran over Jacksonville
The Jags are winning close games over bad teams. I just don't think they're playoff contenders.

Minnesota over Chicago

Tennessee over Arizona
This will be a good game. Arizona hasn't lost on the road yet. I flip-flopped a bit on this one, but I will stick with Vince.

Baltimore over Pittsburgh
This one makes me nervous, and, under the right circumstances, I might use my VOID power on this game. But the Steelers do not look like they can play without Polamalu, and the Ravens played the Colts tough last week.

New Orleans over New England
This is me effectively hedging. I want the Saints to lose. Badly. But I picked the Pats is a big prime time game against an undefeated opponent a couple weeks ago and lost the hard way. Go Pats! I'll take the Saints.

Green Bay
Cowboys
NYG

Denver will get run over by them. our defense is too small. fml.

Tuesday, November 24, 2009

Thanksgiving!

GB o'er DET

DAL o'er OAK
Not quite sold on Oakland being good or Dallas being bad.

NYG o'er DEN
Sorry, but Denver has to show me something before I get back on the train.

Monday, November 23, 2009

Fuck you Kris Brown. Wide left. +3.5

Friday, November 20, 2009

Ok, so i fucked up and am now up 4.5. Here are my picks!

Indianapolis over Baltimore

Dallas over Washington

Lions over Browns (womp womp)

Green Bay over the 49ers

Jacksonville over Buffalo

Pittsburgh over Kansas City

Minnesota over Seattle

Giants over Falcons
Holy shit... um... home team?

New Orleans over Tampa Bay

Falcons over Rams

Denver over San Diego (but I request that this be removed from competition, since we'll be there...)

New England over NYJ

Bengals over Raiders

Eagles over Bears
Tough call

Houston over Tennessee
Texans can slow the run, but Titans cannot stop the pass.

I had a very busy day at work - hour 13, and counting - and failed to pick. my heart stopped when i looked on our 24hr news channel and saw the NFL score. FML. You got lucky... picking fucking Carolina.... ridiculous!

I'll file my picks tomorrow. we'll talk about the spread idea in Denver. See you Saturday. I couldn't be more excited.

Wednesday, November 18, 2009

Ok. First of all, you are not allowed to tell me to 'file my picks'. That is not an issue for me. If you were writing it to remind yourself, that is acceptable.
Second of all, I have been thinking about this pick-against-a-spread thing, and it brings up a couple issues. The spread changes over the week, and, with my general trend of picking earlier than you, this would be disadvantageous for me. Because of this, we would have to set a time each week and pick a book and make our picks essentially simultaneously. Unless you have a better idea?
Thirdly, with Ronnie Brown out, I will take the Panthers.

Monday, November 16, 2009

Josh loves Peyton Manning for a last-minute drive that bailed him out of what could have been an even worse week (on top of the fact that the Eskimos and Broncos both also lost).
2-1 this week, chipping the lead to five.

Miami and Carolina play Thursday. File your picks!

Josh's last-minute picks

Atlanta over Carolina!

Miami over Tampa Bay
I'm not sold on the rookie QB yet

Minnesota over Detroit

NYJ over Jacksonville

Pittsburgh over Cincinnati
payback time!

New Orleans over St. Louis

Tennessee over Buffalo

Denver over Washington
Time to get back on track

Oakland over Kansas City

Arizona over Seattle

Dallas over Green Bay

Philly over San Diego

Indianapolis over NEw England

Baltimore over Cleveland

Friday, November 13, 2009

Yo yo yo. Still down 6. Still not time to panic.

Atlanta over Carolina
This game makes me a little nervous, as Carolina is historically good at home, and have looked better in recent weeks.

Miami over Tampa

Minnesota over Detroit

Jets over Jacksonville

Steelers over Bengals
I still (for some reason) don't think the Bengals can win the big one. They've proved me wrong so many times.

New Orleans over St. Louis

Tennessee over Buffalo
I don't trust Vince Young yet, but his presence seems to make Jeff Fisher run more, which is winning them games.

Denver over Washington
Get back on the horse before the big one next week :D

Kansas City over Oakland
I don't know. Oakland is coming off a bye and did OK against San Diego the week before. Kansas City is coming off a very close game at Jacksonville. I just think they're the better team right now. Why do these two have to play twice a year?

Arizona over Seattle
Will the real Kurt Warner please stand up?

Dallas over Green Bay
Minnesota just keeps winning by not playing and I love it.

San Diego over Philadelphia
Move this game to Monday night!
God, toss a coin. San Diego will win if the Eagles don't show up, Philly will win if they come to play. San Diego barely beat the Giants last week. In New York. The Eagles are better than the Giants. Right? But in San Diego...
Fuck, I've switched this pick so many times.
I will take the team in their own time zone. Shit, this is the type of game I've lost all year.

New England over Indianapolis
If the Colts play like they have the last 2 games against the Pats, they will lose. That is why I make this pick.

Baltimore over Cleveland
Apparently I am free to do homework on Monday night.

Thursday, November 12, 2009

I'll take San Francisco tonight

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

OK, I will pick the 49ers in the Thursday game and then think about the rest.

Friday, November 06, 2009

Two this week - philly/dallas and pittsburgh/denver.

I really think New Orleans will take it, certainly over Pittsburgh. But I still think I'm a longshot vs. every other playoff team combined. What kind of terms/odds?
Atlanta over Washington
(I accidentally typed "Washingtron." WHY isn't that the title of some sci-fi flick where computers take over the States?)

Cardinals over Bears
This is a tough one. Here are some stats that caught my eye. The Cardinals have allowed a 100-yard rusher once this year. It was last week, against Carolina. In that game, Warner basically threw the game away. I don't think he will here. Or rather, injuries will keep the Bears from too many takeaways. So, we can take Forte out of the mix. Hightower blows, so i don't worry there. Hester is limping. Cutler-Olsen may be the only option Chicago has all day, which is not good. Arizona, meanwhile, has two receivers who are healthy. And they can beat the Bears corners. Anyhow, it all boils down to Warner not throwing away a game. It'll be warm and sunny, so they should be alright. Cardinals.

Baltimore over the Bengals

Indianapolis over Houston

Jacksonville over Kansas City

New England over Miami

Green Bay over Tampa Bay

New Orleans over Carolina

Seattle over Detroit

Giants over Chargers
All the NFL.com experts picked San Diego for this one. I know they're cold but the NYG still have a lot of talent. In their wins, Eli Manning has been the game's top passer. In their losses, he hasn't. He has to outpass Rivers, and they'll win. Oh, and stop Vincent Jackson. The only team San Diego has beat this year, which isn't the Chiefs or Raiders, is the Dolphins. Giants.

San Francisco over Tennessee

Dallas over Philadelphia
This will be one of the best games of the week. I can't figure it out. Dallas, because they don't lose to Oakland. I've got no fucking clue.

Denver over Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh's two losses have come on the road. So did a 6-point victory over Detroit. They are not road warriors. The Baltimore game was close until the fourth, and I think the Broncos can tweak the gameplan. I could be wrong. But I've got faith. Also, I'm almost certain that in doing this I guarantee the game is in play this week.

Thursday, November 05, 2009

Patrick is in desparate need of a big week, but he is not ready to panic yet. -6. Week 9.

Atlanta over Washington

Arizona over Chicago
2 Jeckyll-and-Hyle teams, but Chicago hasn't really beat anyone yet.

Indy over Houston

Baltimore over Cincy
Tough call, but I like revenge games, and Baltimore made a very good team look very bad last week.

Jacksonville over KC

Green over Tampa
In the battle of the Bays.

New England over Miami
Not sold on Miami yet, but fun to watch.

New Orleans over Carolina
I think that if NO gets home-field in the NFC, they get to the Super Bowl and lose. To Indy or Pittsburgh. So we may need to come up with terms.

Seattle over Detroit

San Fran over Tennessee
Vince Young may prove me wrong here, but I hate picking 1-6 teams.

Giants over San Diego
2 teams, 2 very different directions, but I think the Giants are due. And the Chargers 2-game winning streak is over the AFC West basement.

Philly over Dallas
Awesome game to watch.

Pittsburgh over Denver
If they can beat my Vikes, they can beat the Broncs. That game we are going to might still shape up to be important.
